Divorce is rarely just a legal process. Alongside the paperwork and practical decisions come difficult conversations, uncertainty about the future, concerns about children, finances, housing and the emotional impact of life changing in ways you never expected.
For ten years, I worked as a family law solicitor, helping clients through some of the most challenging periods of their lives. During that time, I came to realise that while legal advice is essential, it is often only one part of what people need.
Many were looking for something more. Someone who could help them think clearly, make informed decisions, prepare for difficult conversations and navigate the realities of family change beyond the legal process itself.
When people first contact me, they are often carrying far more than a legal problem. They are carrying uncertainty. Fear about the future. Worry about their children. Questions about money, housing, relationships and what life might look like once everything changes.
I understand that because, before becoming a Divorce Coach, I spent ten years practising as a Family Law Solicitor. During that time, I guided clients through some of the most emotionally challenging periods of their lives. I helped them navigate legal processes, understand their rights and work towards practical resolutions. But over the years, I began to notice something.
While legal advice is essential, it is only one part of the journey.
Many clients needed support beyond the courtroom and beyond legal documents. They needed someone to help them think clearly, prepare for difficult conversations, manage the emotional impact of separation and make confident decisions about their future.
That realisation led me to retrain as a professional Divorce Coach through The Divorce Coaching Academy.
Today, I combine my legal knowledge with specialist coaching skills to provide support that is both practical and personal.
